Daisy celebrated her first birthday on Thursday, May 25th! Truth to tell, here at ChezRanger we've been celebrating all week. We'll probably continue to celebrate until Daisy turns two!
As is only right!
Daisy is turning into a fine young adult cat. She has grown so much since she came to live with us!
It would have taken 10 of her to fill this window back then. Now?
Four Daisies, tops. She does still love sniffies out the windows.
I know the pic is blurry, but really, moving is how Daisy goes through her day. She does love to play. She plays very well with us, and she is tops at amusing herself. She loves bought, made or found toys equally. Balls, mousies, wands, you name it. Sometimes she'll get in the toy closet, destroy things until she finds the wand she wants and she'll drag it out and pull the whole 4 feet of plastic, string and fur around the house, ears back, growling a challenge to all comers to try and take it from her. Cute as cute can be! Even cuter when the wand gets caught under a chair and an epic tug of war ensues...
Like all good kitties, Daisy enjoys the bed. She thinks of it as a multi-purpose space. She uses it for lounging:
...but she also brings her toys up to play. Sometimes in the wee hours. The really wee hours. We don't mind. Here's Daisy wit one of her favorite toys, a piece of fleece tied to a pipe-cleaner.
You can tell from the rumpled state of the bed that there has been an epic battle going on. I don't know why I even bother making the bed anymore....
Daisy also seems to have inherited the feline gene that leads to a fondness for sock drawers.
I don't know what she has against basic white socks, though. I did find out that she has also inherited that adolescent rebelliousness. When I told her to stop chewing my socks, did I get meek obedience? No. I got this...
This is what you look like when you fuss at me!!! nyah!!! blah blah!
And then she went back to sock chewing. Hmmph. Teenagers.....
(sometimes my camera's inability to handle moving objects really works to my advantage....)
Daisy has found places to enjoy that neither Maddie nor Ivy ever found. Daisy enjoys the ironing board. Don't worry, we're paranoid and guard it zealously when the iron is on...
How can we deny that happy little face anything?
Yes, dear, we know. Happy Birthday. We're glad you were born.
