...we see some individuals having a well-deserved nap:
Chez-Ranger had a 5 hour drive up to the in-laws over Christmas. 20 minutes into it, little Ivy yakked all over the inside of her carrier. Poor girl. After a 20 minute break to clean the cat and the carrier, we were off. No problems the rest of the trip, save for the usual cat complaints. There was some yakking on the return trip after about 3 minutes, but as we had taken up the food bowl at about midnight the night before, Ivy didn't have much to hurl. Anyway, we're all home again and resting up from the holiday.
Maddie and Ivy ahve been napping on the same couch recently. There's usually some growling as they get settled, but things quiet down. Sometimes they forget the other is there and get a surprise upon waking:
Whoa!!! Were did Catzilla come from?!?
Ivy's taken to exploring the house more actively. She wandered downstairs into the basement and somehow got across the tops of the hanging lights and a/c ducts into the crawl-space. Explored up there for a bit, picked up *all* the dirt for us, and came charging when we got out the treat-bag to lure her back upstairs. After we gave her a good brushing she headed for the food bowl and shortly thereafter, a well-earned nap:
We're still having cat-integration issues though. We're getting worried about Maddie's state of mind. The only consequence of Ivy's rescue that we regret is that Maddie has had to have much of life rearranged. She still seems to love us and accept us, but she gets really upset with the freedom Ivy's gotten. Most of the time it's okay: they eat each other's food, sleep in each other's spots, but sometimes Maddie is noticably out of sorts. She took a couple of swats at Ivy last night as Ivy walked by. No contact, but it was close. If anyone has advice (even the "cowboy up and deal with it, wimp" style) we'd love to hear it.
The only advice I can give you is: let them sort it out for themselves. It may look downright ugly sometimes, with lots of growling and snarling and hissing, claw-swiping and blood-shed. But they have to establish a kind of order and us simians can't interfere.
Sometimes that gets real heart-breaking results, like our Caramel who decided to move over to the hospital next door when Zorro threatened to kill him once too often. Fortunately for all of us, Caramel has found some good nice people there at the elderly home behind the hospital.
But otherwise they can become companions like Bean Sidhe having charmed both Zorro and Loup-Garou into submission. Heck, we even caught Zorro playing with Bean Sidhe last week !!!!! That was p-lay-ing... not frigging murder ! Miracles do happen it seems...

Tincture of time is probably the best. Unless its really violent, which it doesn't sound like it is. Scooby doesn't like Scout, he constantly hisses & growls at him. It just makes Scout all the more excited to torment him more by jumping out at him when he least expects it.
Hey, could you send Ivy over to clean out our air ducts?
