Well, once again Maddie had to take a trip to the vet. Once again it was a claw that had grown around and pierced her pad. We'd noticed a limp earlier in the week, but Maddie had mostly gotten over it. We figured she'd pulled something chasing Ivy around, or perhaps that a claw was starting to become uncomfortable. Maddie was jumping onto and off of stools, running like a frantic beast, and seeming pretty normal. It wasn't until I went to trim her claws that I noticed one sunk most of the way into her pad! Looks like it had been there for a while, too. Anyway, a trip to the vet occured the next day. Our vet clipped the claw, pulled it out and gave us some antibiotics, just to be safe. Crisis over. Here is an old pic of the injured paw (the right front paw, to be precise):
Maddie's been taking her antibiotics wrapped in treats, so she's pretty happy about it. She's been resting up in sun puddles and keeping an eye on the house:
What's Ivy been up to while Maddie's been less than top form?
Napping even harder. She likes to put her feet up on the back of the couch. And yes, Fiona, she knows exactly how cute she is.
On a non-cat note: I took this pic in the garden and really liked it:
I do love watching spring in our garden. Lady Ranger has worked terribly hard to plan and plant. I just lift the heavy stuff, and appreciate the results.
Aw!
The wee feet!
I can't stop smiling!!
PS I hope Maddie's paw heals quickly!

Oh Maddie!! What an awful thing to have happen. We've never heard of that before! Glad you are on the mend and will soon be able to keep Ivy in line again.
Beautiful flowers.!
