We start with the loveliness you come to this blog to see:
Lovely, in a looking at you in an upside-downy kinda way.
I'd also like to report on another lovely dinner. LadyRanger and I made Tortillitas with Shrimp! Got the recipe from this guy. If you enjoy a good food, this is worth watching!
Here's a link to the recipe in a written down form. It is a really tasty, savory dish. I was really impressed that our tortillitas looked just like the ones Mr. Bittman made. *Quite* cool. And really, really tasty. (note: I did not try to flip the tortillitas the cool way. Didn't want to eat off the floor. Didn't seem to detract...)
Miss Maddie, not being a seafood girl, was unimpressed.
Meh. Let me know when you make it with turkey. *That's* when I'll wake up.
A final note: Mr. Bittman has something like 70 episodes of his show on YouTube, as well as an archive on the NYT website. Worth a look. Lady and I already have plans to make his Pear-Upside-Down Cake. We'll let you know how it goes!
Good Job Maddie, you pick your pleasures wisely. We can't be bothered when the people cook either. Not that that happens too often around here.
Mom says the recipe looks yummy and that Ranger should have given flipping the tortillas a shot!
