The Big Snow of '10

Well, 2010 hasn't wasted much time in exceeding the average yearly snowfall here.  got about 8 inches of snow.  Not much for some parts of the country,but it's a big snow for here.  A pic:

ARE YOU INSANE?!?!?  We've done this already!  There are NOT enough treats in the WORLD to make me go out there!!!

I'm going to explain this again.  Sun + Bed = Warm.  Warm = Happy Cat.  Got it?  This kitty does NOT do cold.  Are we clear?

Okay, now, bring me turkey and and that Laughing Cow cheese.  I hope we're done with your snow obsession.

Guest Cats by Candlelight

Well, curses!  I've run out of batteries for the camera, and thus cannot share any new Maddie pictures.  I can, though, share some lovely pictures of Isis and Wasabi, cats that belong to my gaming friends.  These pics are taken with a camera that is worthy of such beautiful cats.

 
There haven't been any recent posts on Wasabi and Isis's blog, but if they get enough visitors (and nice comments) from you carnival goers, they might resume posting.  And, believe me, they have some stunning photos to share.  Please encourage them.

Another Lazy Day Post

After a full, busy week, we're having a lazy long weekend.  Everybody is getting into the lazy act:

Now, don't get the wrong idea...Maddie's not lazy, really.  Just tired from playing with one of her Christmas boxes:

The best part of Christmas is the boxes, I think.

Though the week was busy it was enjoyable.  We discovered a wonderful new dessert.  Pear Upside-Down Cake:

After the trip outside

We did actually take Maddie outside to check out the Big Snow of '09.  She was *not* happy.  She was off the snow before my camera could focus.  Thus, no cute on the snow pics.  We do have one picture of an unhappy cat crouching on the cold bricks, though.

 
We do have some footage of Maddie coming inside from the awful snow.  She's much happier walking on the warm floor and getting treats.  Please excuse the bad video work.  It's not the cat's fault.

It's been quite chilly out recently.  Went outside a few days ago because we thought we heard a kitten crying in the cold.  It was a bird of unique voice, however, so Maddie was spared the trauma of another feline in the house.  <sigh>

Maddie's Christmas Present

Happy New Year!  I hope all is well in Carnival Land.  We've had a lovely holiday.  Went up to visit LadyRanger's folks.  Maddie was *not* happy with the drive but she seemed to enjoy her visit to the Winter Palace.  She was quite the outgoing girl. 

As noted in the previous post, we'd given Maddie a catnip carrot with feathers for Christmas.  She had a great time with it, after spending a lot of time with her head in the bag.  Here's the video (please note: the substandard quality of the video is due to my sorry-ness, not any lack of wonderful on the part of the cast):

I'm going to make Maddie watch this, just to cheer her up.  It seems she's dealing with a Urinary Tract Infection.  Lots of sitting in the box looking disgruntled and producing nothing.  We called the wonderful Dr G. and she said that it'll probably pass (pun intended) on its own, especially if we up Maddie's water intake.  We're giving her wet food and I'm offering water to her hourly.  If she's still behaving like this by the middle of the week we're taking her in for treatment.  The doc said that she's not too worried about this getting serious, but to be sure to pay attention to Maddie's behavior.  Send our girl some good wishes and cheering thoughts as she's rather put-out.
