Sorry to have missed posting last week. I know it was a blow to all of you who require a Maddie-fix every week. All I can say is, well....Memphis. It's a long story, well avoided.
On to the real reason you're here!
Maddie's collar, the one she's worn since she came to live with us, has finally worn out. The pastic safety clasp gave up the ghost yesterday and we found it on the floor. Maddie was distraught!
Oh Noes! Not my collar! I've had it since I was a kitten!!
No!!! You can't take my old collar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Had some errands to run, so I zipped off to the pet store and picked up another collar. Not sure if the clasp on it is strong enough to withstand some of Maddie's more vigorous scratching, though. Maddie appears to be a bit skeptical, too...
What is this? I don't get it.... You think that just *anything* can replace my old collar??
I don't know about this, Mister...Pink? I am *not* a pink sort of cat.
Well, okay. We'll just pitch it and get another collar for you.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can't take my new collar away from me!!!! MINE!!!!!!
I will never understand what goes on in her feline mind. Anyways, at least the collar is on.
<sigh> It doesn't seem to be too much of an impediment...it can stay. For now.
And now to the some one new referenced in the title of this fine post.
I'd seen him? her? a couple of weeks ago but hadn't had the chance to get a photo. LadyRanger saw this lovely beast in our back garden yesterday. He stopped long enough for me to get a few really bad photos. Believe me, these do *not* do justice to this wonderfully beautiful cat.
Gray and white. Big. Sleek and handsome. Looks well fed. We're guessing that he's probably an indoor/outdoor cat with a place to go. We hope so, at least.
He's always welcome here, as long as he doesn't try to come inside. That's Maddie's territory. I'll post more pics of him if I get any.
We didn't have you picked for a "pink" kitty either, Maddie, maybe John needs to check the internet to find a black one with spikes on it!
Very handsome visitor! Hopefully the situation is as you said and that he hasn't been dumped while keeping well fed on birds & critters.
