It's been a busy week here at ChezRanger. I've been gearing up to head back to the classroom. Teachers reported to school last Monday and we've been plugging away in our rooms getting things ready to meet parents and students. I'm usually pretty ready to get back to the job after a summer, but it's usually a demanding and hectic time. One of the casualties has been my established summer morning ritual with Maddie: morning brushies. Most days since Mid-June I've gotten up, made coffee and sat down in the sunpuddle on the floor and indulged myself and the cat with 10 minutes of thoroughly enjoyable grooming. Getting up earlier and having to move through the morning much faster has made it rather impossible during the weekday, so I guess I'll just have to restrict this blissful moment to the weekend. Here are a couple of pics from yesterday:
I know, there's not a lot of brushing going on in this pic, but my camera isn't really groovy enough to manage a clear action shot in anything less than uber-bright light (that's right...I'm blaming my equipment). I hope you'll settle for a few moments between brushes...
Anyways, this is one of the many wonderful parts of my Saturdays.
Another good Saturday moment? Dinner with LadyRanger. Last night? Thai fried rice with pineapple! (Khao Pad Supparot)(!)
That's right! Served *in* the pineapple. Boo-yah! And the interesting note? The Argentinian Torrontes wine went perfectly with the Thai dinner. Multi-culturalism at its best.
That's one nice thing about working from home - efurry day has brush time!

Those are truly gorgeous pictures of that grand lady!
Good luck with the new school year and thank you for the kind words for Shaggy! He really feels much better now.
