The marking of the change of season is a multi-facted event. For some, it's an astronomical event. For others, it's the return of football or baseball, or going back to school. For some, it's the turning of the leaves or the first green shoots of spring. Regulare readers will remember how we know it's autumn here at Chez-Ranger:

Yep, the return of the sunpuddle on the cedar chest. Maddie loves this spot, as did Ivy. Maddie still spends the first good sun-puddle day marking territory, rubbing her chin on the well-scratched footboard.

I always try to get a few pics, as I love the light.

Still trying to get the perfect shot of Maddie's whiskers. Funny...for such a magnificent set, they don't read very well on camera. I must be doing something wrong.
Suprisingly, Maddie was in a playful mood for this photo-shoot. Turns out the camera strap was just too interesting to ignore!

This went on for a bit.

She even got interested in the camera itself, which is unusual.

Turned out to be a bit disappointing for her, I fear....

Well, that didn't taste as good as I thought it would. Stupid human....
Then it was back to napping. Calm, peaceful and undisturbed by humans with cameras. Until next time.
