Last week about this time it was lovely. We were looking at 70 degrees or so. Had the windows open and everything. It was quite nice. We even had Matilda come over for a visit and a lounge.

She seemed to enjoy herself quite a bit, even given that we have to clean up the yard a bit.... She's a forgiving cat.
Anyway, this was Wednesday.
Thursday got progressively cooler and wetter.
Thursday night we got hit with one of our infamous Southern Ice Storms. Ick.

It looks pretty, but it ain't.

Over 300,000 people in our state lost power. We were pretty lucky and only suffered a blink. Heard the blown tranformer, too, but no harm done to us.
We found more evidence of the hardy neighborhood wandering cat.

We think it's a handsome, very friendly black and white cat we've named Moo-Cow Frankie. He comes up the steps from the street, crosses our porch and then...

...wanders around the house and thru the winter remains of the lilly patch back to his home. A fearless and hardy cat.
Maddie's reaction to all this?

As long as the sunpuddle happens, she's pretty okay with it all.
It was 70 degrees yesterday, and will be in the 60-70 degree range most of the week. We'll probably get more snow the week after.
<sigh>
