I am *so* glad that this week is over.
Really. It's sucked.
Monday I went in to the dentist and got a temporary crown on my very back left molar. I know that it's better than not getting a temporary crown on my very back left molar, but it wasn't fun at all. Modestly expensive, too. Like more than a house payment expensive. Monday eve also saw the start of what was expected to be 3-5 inches of snow and freezing rain.
Tuesday showed less than an inch of ice-crusted snow. We got off light. Eastern counties were hammered with freezing rain. I know that an inch of snow makes our northern brethren laugh contemptuously, but a half-inch of ice is seriously bad business. Anyways, *here* we miss school for a day, which I never like 'cause we have to make it up at the end of the year.
Wednesday saw school called off again. We did have an optional teacher workday. I walked down to the street to scout our hilly, insufficiently plowed neighborhood to see if I could get out. Despite taking great care I did take a major fall, slamming the back of my head into the tarmac. My bro Rob, who delivers pizza and is a skilled and fearless driver, zipped over and took me to the local doc-in-the-box for a check. Nigh a hundred dollars for a visit to this place. Despite the blood I needed no stitches. Thank god I didn't have to get the tonsure. Insult on top of injury was avoided. Went home and was woozy and scattered all day.
Thursday: Once again, no school. I was very sore and generally useless. Also started to get a cold. 101.4 fever by the evening.
Friday saw me back at the doc-in-the-box. Got another hundred bucks sucked out, but got anti-biotics and cough syrup in what i think was an equitable swap.
Saturday: had to put off our planned Tax Day work with LadyRanger, along with our traditional Tax Pizza. Doing the taxes is never really fun, but the pizza is always a reward. Missed it.
Today I'm glad that nothing was worse or more annoying than it was, but I'm happy to see this week slide into the abyss of history. Many many many thanks to LadyRanger for being the greatest of Champs!
And Maddie has nursed me well. She's a good Cat.

Why, yes, I am. Thank you.
