Meet Daisy.

Hi!
Yep. We're trying the kitten thing again! We've had her for about 3 1/2 weeks now. We adopted her from AARF, one of our fine local groups. It's actually the group that we got Maddie from way back in 2001 (I'm sure you can tell that they have a sterling record with us!).
Daisy is about 4 1/2 months old. No one seems to be really sure about her early life, but she was a bottle baby. She is a very snuggly kitten.
She is very playful. She LOVES her mousies and carries them all over.

She even carries them into bed with us when we hit the sack. We really don't mind the hurricane of feline energy as she tosses and attacks the mice. It's nice to know that she's there. The mice also keep her from attacking feet.
She enjoys playing under the chair...

...and resting atop it.

So far, the only issues we've had with the sweet girl are intestinal. The food we were planning to give her did not fit well with her gut and gave her a mad case of pooey-bum. We took her to the vet to make sure there was nothing dire happening (there wasn't) and we've been experimenting with various other brands, waiting to find the magic recipe.
Daisy is taking it like a trooper. I think she'd eat a PB&J if we left it on the counter unattended for too long. She did mount a kitchen-table raid one day, and gnawed the corner off one of LadyRanger's new-made loaves. We had to have a family chat about that. I'm sure she understood perfectly and that it will never happen again.
She is a very vocal kitten, with quite a vocabulary of trills, murrrs and meows. She's a great conversationalist!
As befits kittens, Daisy is a very curious and brave little creature. She's already been spelunking in the basement. She's made a highway under our bed. She leaps into closets with abandon. She's always ready to hop into an open window and smell whatever the outside has to offer.

oooh! good smells!
Daisy also enjoys a good relax after a romp.

As always, the sun-puddle is a cat-magnet. It soothes my soul to see another cat there.
We've had a few issues with inadvertent claw-snags in the upholstery. We're mostly attributing those to kitten-clumsiness, but we've had to take a few defensive measures. Daisy doesn't seem to mind.

A chair fort! For me?? Wow! You guys are the best!!
We'll tell her the truth later, when she's grown-up. Of course, if she attacks the couch again, she may have to learn to deal with claw-caps. Not looking forward to trying to put those on. We've already trimmed her claws and she was more Maddie-like about it than we'd hope she would be. <sigh>
She has cute little toe-hawks!

She is a wonderful little cat!
And she's letting us sleep through the night, which is a blessing.
After our experience with Lucy, we were really nervous about this, as I'm sure you can imagine. We're still a bit cautious, wondering if this will all go sideways at some near point in the future.
As for now, though, we think Daisy, Daisy, Oh Dear! has found her forever home.
The sun has resumed it's proper course in the heavens. We have a cat.

Heehee! oh stop it, you! you're going to turn my head.....
