Well, ChezRanger is once again completely populated. LadyRanger spent the week at the Winter Palace checking vital items off the to-do list. I've spent the past week finishing up with my students and closing out my 27th year of teaching. Daisy spent the last week bacheloring it with me, wondering where the hell LadyRanger was and suspecting that there was yet another trip in her near future. After putting our 8,400th mile 'neath our paws LadyRanger is home, safe and sound and we're looking forward to having her here for a month or two.
Daisy has been in residence since mid-September. We're still learning about each other. Daisy has learned that "OOOWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!" means something like "stop chewing on the human for a second" and that humans do not like to bleed.
We've learned that Daisy likes bread products and that she is a brazen hussy when it comes to nabbing said products. We've caught her onthe counter chewing on the slices of bread that we put in the toaster! Now...the toaster was NOT on, so hey, safe, but jeez louise! We could also mention the yummy, gruyere covered bread we were preparing to broil. We'd left it covered with foil but someone got on the counter, pulled a slice from under the foil, dumped it on the floor and chowed down. We had yet another family discussion about appropriate food for kittens.
We've learned other things about Daisy. She seems to be, like many many felines, a classic ambush predator.

RAWR!!!!

Did I get it??
She has discovered the joys of being a cave-kitty.

Back off. My Lair.
She has, like Lucy before her, discovered the cat in the mirror.

Fascinating! This cat is three-dimensional to look at, two-dimensional to the touch and has no smell. Hmmmm....possibly a case of the Black Hole Informational Paradox, or perhaps Ferni's paradox. I'll have to ask Hawking about this when next we lunch...
Have I mentioned that she can be quite bright? I'm sure I have...
And that's the Daisy for the week. Hope to see you again soon.
