In our varied and random ramblings through the internet we've noticed a rather lovely breed of cat that was unknown to us before.
The Nebelung.

"Wow!" we thought. "Could it be???"

Maaayyyybeeee......
Really, I don't think that Daisy is a true, pure-bred Nebelung. She's a simple girl-next-door stray kitten that we love very much. But gosh, the physical resemblance is striking. Some of the Nebelung's standard personality traits are spot-on as well. I think that the genetic traits that make the nebelung so lovely and personable just happened to express themselves in our little creature of the mist.
Daisy does love to play, even going so far as to drag a favored toy into the room we're occupying and encouraging us to join in!
Daisy is quite the jumper and climber. Climbing more than jumping, though. Sometimes she does not do the "graceful-feline" very well. In any event, she loves getting on top of the dressers or the mantel.
Daisy does enjoy hopping up on my shoulder. Sometimes it's for a modest snuggle and look around. Most times a brief pat or two is followed by a vigorous application of teeth. She seems to view shoulder-time as a prelude to biting the hand that feeds her. When this happens, I generally have to detach her (which can be problematic and mildly painful) and put her down. She's slowly been altering the proportion of snuggle time to bite time in my favor, so I'm optimistic that my arm will eventually heal.
One of the traits that we noticed right off, besides the misty-gray good looks, was a tendency of the nebelungs we saw to sit with one or both of their front legs sticking out.

Daisy does this a lot.

We call it "nebeling", rhyming with "needling"... One leg out is a half-nebel, two legs is the full nebel. Yes, we're weird.
Whether or not Daisy is a Nebelung or simply a spontaneous expression of wonderful genetics, she is certainly a wonderful cat. She needs no official title to win our hearts.
