As you know, ChezRanger has neighbor cats. Their human, Ed, is a great neighbor himself. He's often out in the small yard between our two houses reading or playing his guitar. He let's Puddin' and Nadine out to wander while he loosely supervises them. It is always good to see them out.
We have an old, broken-down, brick barbeque in the side yard. Probably built when the house was new, back in 1935. It isn't a functional as a barbeque any more, but it has served as a plant stand and container for Lady Ranger's herb garden.
It also serves as an impromptu cat-bed.
Ed will lay out a towel and Puddin' will chill for a while. For this pic, Ed is just off stage to the right playing his own compositions on his acoustic guitar. His current book is next to Puddin', and Nadine, who wandered too far, is learning about limits in her carrier on the chaise. I'm glad we can provide a spot where Puddin', and the whole family, feels at ease.
She is still alert though, and not much happens around her territory without her knowledge.
You think you're pretty slick, don't ya?
Having good neighbors is a good thing. With apologies to Robert Frost, no fences needed.
Have a great week ahead, all!
